Have a safe and happy Haloween! We’ve been singing lots of spooky songs and playing spooky sound games with Prek1-5 as well as K and 1 grades. We continue to prepare for the All Saints mass this Wednesday, when the choir will sing songs dedicated to saints such as For All the Saints and Sing With All the Saints In Glory.
In addition to recorders and music notation knowledge, we will be expanding the music vocabulary as well with various vocabulary words that are musical in nature- most of them are in Italian as that was deemed language of music back in 16th century and where music notation was invented in the 12th century.
We are also working hard to prepare music for our next presentation in November which of course is dedicated to Thanksgiving- lots of songs about being thankful and happy for what we have- God, family, our country.

Dear Students, Parents and Faculty- a big THANK YOU to all those who came to our Hurricane and Earthequake Relief Concert, and fundraiser for Puerto Rico and Mexico. We also had an opportunity not only to hear great music by Bobby Sanabria and his Quartet, but to learn about the roots of many styles of Latin beats popular today.
This week we will be learning about various rhythms from around the world and will be using percussion instruments such as tambourines, shakers and rhythm sticks to re-create those world beats.

This week we are progressing further with songs using our block flutes/ recorders. We will also advance in music notation, learning places of notes on the staff, using the music notebooks.
The choir is getting ready for Feast of St. Francis Mass this Wednesday, however all classes will be familiar with the songs selections and we are expecting some beautiful singing of praise by all on that day.
Students are also exploring music from musicals and operas, as well as history of music notation through the ages and history of opera and music in general. We are learning fun facts about famous composers from around the world and how they influenced their society of the time they lived in- music is a powerful force!
