Joining Google classroom for music classes

Dear OLQM Students and Families,
I hope you are all doing well, staying safe and healthy. During these trying times we have come together as a community more than ever before. We are working tirelessly on your children’s uninterrupted education, and that includes enrichment such as music, in all elements- singing, exploring music history, doing music activities and learning music theory. I will soon be posting a Google Classroom code for each grade, PreK through 8. With this code you can join the music class online, and via application Zoom and meeting code that will be posted for each class, we will be able to see each other during our scheduled music classes.

Week of March 8, 2020

Dear Students and Families,
I hope you had a restful weekend. As we go into this school and work week, please remember to check the CDC guidelines regularly, keep informed and stay calm and vigilant as we are all aware.
We will cover several composer units this week, learning about Spanish composer de Falla and German composer L.W. Beethoven. Grades 2-4 will work on Mass selections for St. Patrick's Day.
Grades 5-8 will cover composer units and practice recorder flutes further while developing ear training and sight reading skills.

Dear Students and Parents,
We have begun our Music from Around the World units with various grades, introducing traditional music and instruments from various countries.
This week we will utilize various percussion instruments in all grades, and Grades 1-3 will start basic piano skills.
Students in Sacramental program will begin rehearsing choir selections for Mass each week, please check back here during the week for a list of songs assigned by Ms. Jane, our Cantor.
