RELIGION CURRICULUM FOCUS OF THE WEEK:

Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ's last day on Earth as a man. The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ's last day. Specific prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are complete.

The Corporal Works of Mercy are found in the teachings of Jesus and give us a model for how we should treat all others, as if they were Christ in disguise. They "are charitable actions by which we help our neighbors in their bodily needs."
They respond to the basic needs of humanity as we journey together through this life.

SOCIAL STUDIES FOCUS:

Women who changed history, in the US and around the world.
This week, we will introduce some of the women who have made groundbreaking contributions to the fields of medicine, physics, botany and chemistry  as well as the female scientists who aided NASA’s effort to get to the moon, as well as some female astronauts who have contributed to our understanding of space.

MUSIC CURRICULUM FOR THE WEEK WILL FOCUS ON FEMALE COMPOSERS AROUND THE WORLD.
