Halloween celebrations

 Tomorrow, Friday, October 30, we will have a Halloween celebration during afternoon periods in our homeroom. Students can bring individually sealed and wrapped snacks and candy if they wish, and they can also wear a costume. If you have any additional questions feel free to email me. The students who are remote may also dress up and have snacks at home. We will watch a scary movie together too ( "Nightmare before Christmas" and /or "Coraline").

Early dismissal schedule- classes end at 12 noon.

Week of October 25th, 2020

 Dear Students and Families,

Halloween 2020 will be celebrated on Friday October 30th.
There will be a classroom contest for each grade for the best costume. Teachers will be sending home directions concerning the festivities for their classroom. Please check with your child's teacher.
This year - no food/goodie bags etc. may come from the home.
Sealed packages may be sent in and the teacher will distribute items to their class.
Dismissal for all students on Friday will be at 3:00 PM.

WEEK OF OCTOBER 18, 2020

 Dear Students and Parents,

Important announcements:

First Quarter Report Cards 

-This Fall, Parent-Teacher conferences will take place via Zoom. 

Report cards will be sent home on November 12th for all students in grades K-8. Students who are remotely learning will have their report card e-mailed to them through their olqmnyc.org e-mail.

Zoom meetings will occur for Parent Teacher Conferences on Friday November 13th from 1:00 PM - 6:00PM.

Parents will be requested to e-mail their child's teacher and the teacher will set up the available time for the Zoom meeting.  Zoom meetings will be set for 10 minutes each to  accommodate all parents. Parents can begin the conversation via e-mail beforehand by checking their child's Educate grades. 
As a reminder, tuition must be up to date to receive the report card and to be part of the Parent Teacher Conference.

EVACUATION DRILL

-Students will practice an evacuation drill this week as per the guidelines of the FDNY. In the event that the school needs to evacuate for an extended period-- all the students will be brought to the Cloisters located at the top of Ft. Tryon Park.

is now called Educate.
Parents will be able to view their child's grade book beginning October 13th.
The grade book will be accessible to all parents of students in Grades 1-8.
If Parents want to receive the login and password for their child's grade book they are requested to e-mail Mr. Woods at olqm1@aol.com

 by Mr. Guzman.

​National I Love Lucy Day – October 15, 2020


Students may dress up like a character from the
 I Love Lucy Show 
(check You Tube)
Each class will have a contest for the best dress character 
from the show.
November 6, 2020 
Parents who wish to change from remote to in person may do so on November 6th.
An email must be sent to Mr. Woods at olqm1@aol.com requesting for the child to switch to in person.

As per the regulations of the Superintendent of Schools: 
  The student gets medical clearance and
 a negative COVID PCR test result.

Grade 4 will have the quiz on Tuesday this week, 2nd grade will have a quiz on Wednesday, and grades 3 and 5 on Thursday.
