Important announcements:

-Exhaust Fan Installation in Classrooms
On Sunday November 30th exhaust fans were installed in all the classrooms. These fans were installed at the recommendation of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) for complete air exchange in school classrooms. Reminder sweaters are a must this year as doors and windows must be open a little to have complete air exchange. Please make sure if your child loses things that their names are in the sweaters.

-Catapult Learning Extended Day  
This a free resource for students who are experiencing Academic difficulties in grades K-8 or who wish to have an added push. If you need more information please contact either Alba or    Mr. Guzman and we will have Catapult Learning contact you. 
-The menu for December is available for parents. Please  e-mail Mr. Woods at olqm1@aol.com and the menu will be scanned and forwarded to you.

Please read the school blog regarding procedures in place regarding yellow zone restrictions and planned Zoom meeting for parents with Mr. Woods.

 IMPORTANT DATES:

Monday December 7th - Celebration of the Feast of St. Nicholas- students will be receiving candy canes in celebration of the feast.
Monday December 7th - Faculty Meeting Dismissal at 12:00 noon
Christmas Recess
December 21, 2019- January 4, 2020
Last Day of School 
December 18th @ 2:00 PM dismissal for all students all grades.

Important announcements:

-5th grade students only, in person: please wear full uniform on Monday, 11/22

-3rd grade students will have a Religion Chapter Test as announced last week

-We will have Thanksgiving Mass on Wednesday, November 25th,  at 9am featuring 4th grade choir, led by 6th grade students- parents welcome!

-School will be Closed Thursday and Friday, November 26th and 27th

Week of November 1, 2020 Lesson Plan and Important Announcements

 Dear Students and Families,
I hope that you are having an enjoyable weekend. Please view this week's lesson plan HERE
Some important announcements for this week:
-Updated Health & Safety Checklist: a new Health & Safety checklist will be distributed by teachers to all students who attend in person classes. Please have it returned to the classroom by Tuesday morning.
- Election Day- School is OPEN
-First Quarter Report Cards :Sent home on November 12th for all students in grades K-8. Students who are remotely learning will have their report card e-mailed to them through their olqmnyc.org e-mail. Zoom meetings will occur for Parent Teacher Conferences on Friday November 13th from 1:00 PM - 6:00PM. Parents should email me at missalma@olqmnyc to set up PT conferences for Religion/Music. 
Zoom meetings will be set for 10 minutes each to accommodate all parents.Parents can begin the conversation via e-mail beforehand by checking their child's Educate grades.  As a reminder Tuition must be up to date to receive the report card and to be part of the Parent Teacher Conference.

-Parents who wish to change from remote to in person may do so on November 6th. An email must be sent to Mr. Woods at olqm1@aol.com requesting for the child to switch to in person.

Halloween celebrations

 Tomorrow, Friday, October 30, we will have a Halloween celebration during afternoon periods in our homeroom. Students can bring individually sealed and wrapped snacks and candy if they wish, and they can also wear a costume. If you have any additional questions feel free to email me. The students who are remote may also dress up and have snacks at home. We will watch a scary movie together too ( "Nightmare before Christmas" and /or "Coraline").

Early dismissal schedule- classes end at 12 noon.
